Creating an OpenVPN configuration file and using it with OpenVPN Connect app on Android
Installing OpenVPN Connect app

On your Android mobile device, please go to Google Play Store and find the OpenVPN Connect app. Alternatively, you can use direct link from your Android device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.openvpn.openvpn. Once you're there tap INSTALL and wait for the installation to complete.

After OpenVPN Connect is installed, launch the app. In the application window please select OVPN Profile to prepare the app for the first use.

Please tap on ALLOW to grant the app access to the files on your device.
Creating an OpenVPN configuration file

Follow the link https://tryvpn.com/account and sign into your account using your login and password. Then, under the VPN location section, select the server from the list. Note the Ping number (right under the server name): the lower this value, the faster the connection will be. Ping is the time between a request from your provider and a response from the server in milliseconds.

Scroll down to the Operation system section. From the list of operating systems, please select Android by tapping on it. Below, under the OpenVPN Configuration section you can see the configuration file name (*.ovpn) and two buttons: tap on Download configuration file button to download the configuration file onto your device, or send it to your e-mail address by tapping on Send to email.
Adding an OpenVPN configuration file to OpenVPN Connect app (file was sent to your email)

Please go to your email and find an email from TryVPN with your configuration file attached (your email client may differ from the one shown in the picture). Tap on the attached file to open it with the previously installed OpenVPN Connect app.

The OpenVPN Connect app will ask for your confirmation – tap OK to proceed.

You can change the configuration file name during import. Then please tap on ADD.

OpenVPN configuration file is installed and ready for use. The connection status is shown in blue – DISCONNECTED.

Tap the toggle switch next to the configuration file name to initiate the connection. In the connection request message window please tap OK to confirm.

When connection is established, the switch and status will turn green – CONNECTED. The traffic statistics of the active connection will also be displayed.
Creating an OpenVPN Profile

Start the OpenVPN Connect app and select OVPN Profile from the application window. You'll see a list of folders on your device (you're going to need to select Internal Storage if you have SD card installed).

Locate and open the 'Download' folder where you saved the configuration file. Select the file and tap on IMPORT.

During import you can change the configuration file name if necessary. When ready tap on ADD.

OpenVPN configuration file is installed and ready for use. The connection status is shown in blue – DISCONNECTED.
